To protect your wires, put some heat shrink tubing over them whenever they might rub against a sharp edge. For real bad areas, a bit of fuel tubing might be a better fix.

Thread Wire through Antenna Tube
To make routing your antenna wire through the antenna tube, first run some dental floss or fishing line through it. Then you can tie it to the wire about an inch from the end and pull it through.
Don’t Bend Your Antenna
Whenever lowering your Transmitter antenna, ALWAYS grab the bottom section and pull down. Pushing from the top can easily bend the antenna.
Brake Parts Cleaner
When tearing down for a good re-build, many parts can be cleaned with a toothbrush and some brake parts cleaner. Be sure your parts are not made of ABS though since the parts cleaner will eat them. To test this, put a little on a paper towel and rub the part. If the towel turns black or the part gets sticky, do not use the parts cleaner.
Brake parts cleaner is great for cleaning your engine during a rebuild too. Just watch out for brittle plastic which can melt when exposed to brake parts cleaner.
NOTE: Safety First with this tip! ALWAYS wear safety glasses when spraying parts cleaner of any type. Getting this stuff in your eye is NOT fun! Do not expose your skin for prolonged periods of time either. Read the can for more safety precautions.
Toothbrush Cleaning Tool
Use a toothbrush to get into those little spaces and get the dirt out. This works best when the dirt is dry.
